Tuesday

Awesome run this morning. 75° out, 95% humidity... the perfect way to break a sweat at 4:30 in the morning! Finished up 7.3 miles about 5:30am and headed straight into the pool to cool off and do some stretching

I'll try to swim and lift today

In 1981 Below The Knee employee Murray Anderson ran from Savannah, GA to San Diego, CA. Here's Murray with his feet propped up on then San Diego mayor Pete Wilson's desk:

I have decided to register for my first 5k (Country's Midnight Express). I finally have the courage!!!

Also what can you tell me about the Jeff Galloway clinic that is next Tuesday. I am not sure why I would attend but would it be helpful for a newbie runner (in your professional opinion)? :)

I went to the clinic last year and really enjoyed it. Are you familiar with the Jeff Galloway program? It's essentially the same program you are on, Stefanie. It involves run/walk. He's an Olympian & incredibly motivating. Sometimes just listening to someone like Jeff talk about running really helps remind you why you're doing it. It's also the kick-off for the Galloway training program here in Columbus (the Columbus Roadrunners' program) for the marathon in Florida.

Everyone enjoyed it last year. I even started doing run/walk after listening to him talk about the benefits. He also will spend a lot of time answering questions from the audience about just about anything running-related. There were lots of people last year and will probably be 50-60 people again this year. You'll get to meet some folks that do exactly what you've been doing at the same pace you've been using... you'll be glad you came! I'd like for you to meet Karin, she's the lady who heads up the beginner's program. They do the run/walk Galloway method on Saturday mornings at the riverwalk- you might want to join them one morning just for the heck of it.

Thanks for the input. I am going to try and be there, It will all depend on my schedule as it is a little hectic right now and I might be out of town that day :(
